About
I’m Mir Haynes, professional writer. I founded Anabo Studios in 2002 because I’m passionate about helping people like you tell their story in a compelling way to their customers.
I have been invited to speak at a number of local and regional events and conferences on topics related to writing for the web, resumes and cover letters, information architectures and project management. My publications include:
• “Information Architecture: You Do It, You Just Don’t Know It,” Intercom, April 2003
• “Commentary on XML and the New Design Regime,” Journal of Computer Documentation, Vol 26: Num 2
• “User Experience as Corporate Imperative,” Whitepaper
• “Finding the Balance: ‘Parent vs. Worker’ or ‘Parent and Worker’?” Carolina Communique, Vol 9: Num 1
Prior to founding Anabo Studios, I worked as an Information Architect for web firm hesketh.com, designing information architectures for sites like Business North Carolina, American College of Surgeons Oncology Group, Advanced Energy, TogetherSoft Corporation (now offline), and Prepstars.com.
Before that, I worked as a Usability Consultant for HumanCentric Technologies, evaluating consumer products for RCA, Motorola, IBM, Sprint, and DirecTV.
I hold a master’s degree in Technical Communication (full scholarship, GPA 4.0) from North Carolina State University and have been a member of the Society for Technical Communication since 1998. As part of STC’s Carolina Chapter, I served for two years as Communications Manager and was a three-time judge for the annual Online Communications competition.
